Summer is calling!
Where are you heading to this summer?
I’m always in love with the summer vibe in Barcelona. Till today, I am still counting down to the arrival of summer when its long bright day-light greets me everyday throughout the season. Not that I did not visit any other place in the past few summers. I did. It’s just that I have not discovered another place like Barcelona yet.
Home to world famous architectural monuments, renowned museums and gorgeous beaches, and of course, the iconic Sagrada Família which is very near to completion, Barcelona is a definite haven for the adventurous souls. Passeig de Gràcia, the luxury shopping belt dotted with prestigious branded boutiques sits alongside many awe-inspiring buildings in the city centre and is a definite shopaholic’s favourite destination.
Barceloneta, the local’s best-loved spot is where you get your doses of Vitamin-sea. It is a great place to spend an afternoon, lazing the day away under the sun and engaging in all that sunny beach activities.
The vast variety of gastronomy from local cuisines, multi-cultural and ethnic culinary delights, the ol’style western fares, and, even to the myriad range of local tapas will leave you salivating and overly spoilt for choice. Most cafes and restaurants even have a daily ‘menu del dia’. So don’t be shy. Go ahead and have your second luncheon for the day. It is quite normal to have more than three meals a day in Barcelona as the menu items can get pretty tempting.
Here’s 35 of my favourite photos to boost your spirit to make this beautiful city your new summer destination. To be honest, 35 photos is simply not enough to present Barcelona to you. I have a hell lot more!
To really feel this beautiful city and to understand its delicate details and ambience intimately, it is best you pack your bags and head over for a visit yourself. And don’t forget to include a few pieces of sexy bikinis in your luggage!
